Radiesse

Introduction to Radiesse

Radiesse is from a family of injectable fillers that aim to plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While it has been used extensively for facial contouring, the FDA has now approved it for delicate areas such as the hands. Radiesse is opaque and milky white, which also helps hide the appearance of veins once injected into the skin. If you want to treat Radiesse in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, contact us at Seacoast Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics and read more information below. Owner and Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Alexander Slocum prides himself in patient care excellence and satisfaction.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a “hybrid” type of injectable dermal filler used to regain volume and youthful rejuvenation. Rather than using Hyaluronic Acid (HA) like most fillers, Radiesse’s formula uses calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which is FDA-approved for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the facial area, hands, and other delicate parts of the body. CaHA is non-allergenic, more tolerable by the body, and can help stimulate collagen production, which leads to longer-lasting effects than other dermal fillers.
